Built in 1992 by her owners David and Jenny Douglas, Atabeyra has been a beloved presence in the waters of the Turks and Caicos Islands ever since.

Originally crafted as a traditional “rum runner”, Atabeyra made weekly voyages to the Dominican Republic, returning laden with rum, beer, fresh fruits, and vegetables. These goods supplied our open-air farmers market in T.C.I., making her an essential source of goods here on Providenciales.

In 1997, Atabeyra was thoughtfully refitted and transformed into a charter vessel—marking the beginning of Sun Charters. Now celebrating our 30th year of service, Atabeyra and the Sun Charters team continue to share the unmatched beauty, culture, and turquoise waters of the Turks and Caicos with guests from around the world.
