Our Story
From Rum Runner
To Charter Boat
Built in 1992 by owners David and Jenny Douglas, Atabeyra began as a traditional rum runner making weekly voyages to the Dominican Republic, bringing back rum, beer, fruits and vegetables to supply our own local farmers market.
In 1997 she was refit as a charter vessel, marking the founding of Sun Charters. Now celebrating 30 years of service, our team continues to share the unmatched beauty and turquoise waters of the Turks and Caicos with guests from around the world.
